Choice math activity: Come up with a survey question to ask your family and friends.  Create a line plot!  Make it colorful and readable.

What was the survey question?  My survey question is "What is your height?"

How many people were surveyed? First we had about 96 but when I left for a bit the number became 101. Thanks to family and friends for your help. :D

What did you do with the data? We converted feet into inches to help so you are going to see inches not feet. Also we made a histogram (which is a fancy line plot) to show the numbers in 3 different ways. 1. How tall they are. 2. How many people there are. Finally 3. Showing how many people have a certain height.

What is interesting about the plot? Men are usually taller than women but some women are as tall as the men.

How do you calculate the average height? Example, You add up the sum of all of the heights of all of the men and then divide by the number of men surveyed.  

What is the average height of men and women in the United States? For women it is 64 inches and for men it's 69 inches.

What are the average heights of men and women from your data? For women it was 65 inches and for men it's 70 inches.
